Default 1998 XJR - problems fitting a 2001 XJR engine

My name is Kamal.Help please.

I have jaguar XJR X308 of 1998. I had a knock in the motor. I decided to change the engine for the engine of 2001. When replacing the engine I found a difference in camshaft sensors. In 1998 there was one sensor, and in 2001 their two. As to install me the motor of 2001 on my jaguar xjr x308 of 1998 with one sensor. Whether I will be able to start the motor of 2001 with conducting, both the control package and the sensor of 1998.

Sorry for my English

Welcome to the forum Kamal,

I've copied this question from your Intro to X308 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

I believe you need to swap the pick-up on the cam and use the 98 parts.
Someone else should confirm.

Edit: Here's a thread on it https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-aj27s-110565/

The most important thing is the crank position ring on the flywheel. The injectors also have more "pipes" on the AJ27. You should use the AJ26 TB, intake manifold, and as convincor says, the cam sensor actuator.
