Any insight or experiences anyone can relate concerning this conversion? Wife was out of town...plastic pulley on tensioner arm failed..(plastic...who wudda thunk it?). Was in Jax at the time so picked up an idler pully from dealership there. Come to find out the fomoco part that was supplied was in fact...the idler pulley
(new metal part with supplied bolt) I was then told that the entire arm would have to be replaced..sum total of all new parts (Idler $127, Tensioner arm $127, new belt $165....bout $320 in parts alone). So my plan of attack?....2 $23 fomoco idler pulleys...re-thread Tensioner arm for RH thread bolt...loctite/tack-weld this...size up a new smaller belt to compensate for 2 smaller pulleys...so I should be out for less than $100...I'll update this post with ongoing results as I move along...If successful I'll post part numbers so my fellow enthusiast can have enough left over for a bologna sandwich too!

Project was a success! used two 76mm pulleys to replace the two plastic pulleys on the engine. You DON"T have to replace the idler arm....just the pulley on the arm. Re-used the same belt although I will have to replace with a smaller belt, however this allowed me to get the car home where it had taken a rest 30 miles or so from the house here in rural GA. Saved around $250 on the whole deal by doing it this way. Everythings working out just fine....now for that bologna sandwich....with Sharp cheddar cheese.....And.....a spot of Grey Poupon....
