This seems like a pretty good price for a rare VDP S/C (165 made in 1999.) Wish I had more garage space and/or fewer cars!

 

Coming from upstate NY it's always amazing how clean something can look when you don't have to deal with salt & snow. Those underhood shots look great. Small pictures cover a lot though and I bet that front seat doesn't look even that good in person. 150k means there's a bunch of stuff that should have been done or is waiting for the next owner though and 1999 means the chains are the first thing to check. A quick look says this is a good price but it's probably a little steep if you consider the repairs that could be waiting to pounce.

 

The rear badge is incorrect, doesn't say supercharged, Likely been replaced from a standard vanden plas.

Other than that, car looks great!

 

It is my understanding that the word "Supercharged" was added to the Vanden Plas super product run badge only in 2001 and 2002. I have seen (other) 1999 and 2000's without it. My 2001 has it and I'd love to find a spare for the inevitable whereby some lowlife steals mine.

 

Just saw one of these in person for the first time the other day. I now have a new car on my "must own" list.

 

FWIW, my '99 Vanden Plas Supercharged -- which is nearly identical to this one, just with 50K fewer miles -- has the badge. And yes, they are great fun. It's ruined me for other cars.
