Default 1999 x308, fuel tank removal

Hi, went to remove the fuel tank for my pick up conversion and need to remove the feed and return pipes, looks very tight for space, any tips or ideas?, Also i will need to replace the tank so its sits over the propshaft tunnel where the rear seat was, anyone know who supplies bespoke tanks with the foresaid pipes included in the tanks. Thanks

Here's a better question: who else has ever buggered up a 308 to make a lorry who might know how to tailor the fuel tank?

Maybe weld up some jerry cans to fit in the rear doors? Then you would have more room in the abortion . . .

Since you're ripping it out and not reusing it, why not just cut the lines? Seems easier.

Check out the fuel pump DYI in my signature, it may help.

Why not fit a petrol tank where the spare wheel sits, seems a lot easier than having two tanks, one either side of the transmission tunnel.
If I remember correctly, there are at least 2 X308 estates/ station wagons about.

Maybe worth researching them to see how they over come the same problem. Go to X300 section and type in XJR Shooting brake, The XJ 40 based car was built by Harringtons in West Sussex

apart from the first reply, many thanks for the constuctive ideas, both ideas are welcome with the suggestion that putting the the tank where the spare wheel goes probably the best option. Cheers
