1999 X308 Steering wheel airbag fail alert
While I'm in a looking for answers mode today, I have the airbag alert
on and it says the steering wheel airbag has a fault.
I remember seeing a post about a connector problem in the steering wheel post. and there maybe a manufacturers alert about this detail.
As with any repair concerning repairs to airbags, the battery has to be disconnected for a while before attempting repairs.
So, does the repair just involve snugging up the connectors?
Or is it more involved

When you start the vehicle does the air bag light on the dash begin flashing? If you have an air bag problem the flashing is to identify exactly the fault number is.
It should flash then stop for a second and then flash again. It will then stop for 3 seconds and flash again the same sequence as the first set. It will flash for 4 or 4 times.
Try that and get back with what you find. A lot of the time it is the plug on the pretension located in the seat belt buckle. The wires are just hanging under the seat and get snagged when the seat moves back and forth.
Is the indication you are getting on the instrument panel that says it is the drivers steering wheel bag?
