My beloved 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas was totaled when parked
Thank God nobody hurt
I have come to love the front seats and wish to install in my other vehicle
I have have removed the drivers side seat
Passenger is all the way back and rear star bolts are not accessible
Can anybody help with wiring?
Can I get heated seat to work?
There are a total of 11 wires
Two obvious grounds go to body of car
Large White module -9 wires connect here
1)Large Brown
2)Large Brown with a pink strip
3)orange
4)purple
5)gray
6)blue
7)Black with a pink stripe changes color on female side to purple and orange wire--- OBVIOUS GROUND
8)Green with a black stripe
9)Large black---- OBVIOUS GROUND
Separate small black module two wires
1)yellow goes to yellow on -----------------female side of module
2)Yellow with a blue stripe goes to black on female side of module
I am not an electrician but I am handy
Can anybody help with advice-- greatly appreciated?
Hoping I can get seat to work on my other vehicle
it is a van
Second wish
Wishing I can also get heat on seats to work as well
I was thinking hook up heated seats using switches for back seat heated seats
Any and all advice greatly appreciated
Sincerely
Richard

You need the electrical schematic. Here is a link or you can download the entire JTIS from the FAQ sticky above. You can jump the motor to move the seat forward for bolt access. The seat has modules that control motor operation and that might be a real stretch to integrate into another vehicle. The seat heaters are separate and are controlled by a thermistor buried in the seat bottom and might well be usable.

Welcome to the forum.
Here are 2 forum threads about the front seats:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...working-61831/
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x308-xj8-xjr-27/power-seats-not-working-16455/
Testpoint post will lead you to the http://www.jagrepair.com/JaguarXJ6XJ...OBDIIcodes.htm
On the webpage you will see the Electrical, OBD Codes, Tech Guide & Spec Book section,
click on Jaguar XJ8 XJR 1998-2003 to open electrical diagrams webpage.
then click on Jaguar XJ 1999 to open the PDF file for your 1999 XJ8.
Look at pages 67 to 69 driver seat page 70 also 71 for LWB for passenger seat.
The seat heater diagrams come after the seat diagrams also notice that some of the diagrams are different for LH and RH drive vehicles.
Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your kind replies-greatly appreciated
But I am still puzzled!
I have looked at wiring diagrams for a 1999 XJ8 as per your help
I am puzzled in that the colors on the diagrams do not match my harness wire
colors
Ref :my initial posting of colors of in seat control wires
Total 9 wires 2 wires are obvious grounds
Can anybody help to identify what each of my seven wires control ?
I think would be a great help
I am not electrically inclined -possibly I am not reading diagram properly
I now know the two wire seperate connection is the seat air bag
