Default 1999 XJR brake pad rec's...

While under my cat last night I noticed the pads are a little thin. As long as I'm working on a laundry list what's a few more line items?
Has anyone got pad recommendations (or ones to avoid)?
I don't have the Brembo calipers and this is strictly a street car. I've used EBC green stuffs on a Mini in the past but to be honest didn't see much difference in feel or initial bite over the stock pads.
I'm tempted to get a pad and rotor kit from ELine that I saw while surfing amazon.com as I would imagine they tune their rotors to the pads they provide but that could be wishful thinking.
Also what brake hardware would you get to replace with the pads? I was going to do the rattle springs but should the guide pins be replaced as well? The car came to me from Houston and is amazingly clean underneath so I'm not worried about the usual upstate NY corrosion issues.
Thanks.

I put Akebono pads and Brembo rotors on my 2003 XJR about 4 weeks ago and am very pleased so far. Quiet, smooth and no dust.

I put Akebono pads and Centric rotors on my XJ8 a few months ago. The Centric rotors were not as smooth. I had planned to take them off to have them turned, but ended up selling the car. The Centric rotors also squeaked when cool and/or wet, whereas the Brembo are silent.

Since both cars got the exact same pads it made for a good comparison of the rotors.

Just my experience...

I really like to recommend our sponsors, but to be honest for this particular item I ordered them all from Amazon.com. I got Akebono pads and Brembo rotors for all four wheels for about $340 shipped. I couldn't resist.
