Default 20 inch wiper blades on X308

The stock wiper blade according to replacement charts is 21 inches long.

At that length the tip of the blade comes right up to the edge of the windshield trim.

A 20 inch blade will give you a finger's width of clearance to ensure that the tip is not hitting the trim and disturbing the wiping stroke, or disturbing the center clip on the trim (if fitted).

A half inch of wiping action will also be lost at the bottom and the wiper will stick out less to the side when parked.

Hello Plums....I have always used a 21" blade but what I do is trim about 1/2 " of the wiping part of the rubber but leaving the rest of the body intact in the blade head....gives just enough clearence to miss the trim....works for me ;o))

changed my wiper blade last week, the funny thing is my local parts shop listed a 20 inch blade but had a 21 inch on the car. must agree though it comes very close to trim. anyway I put a 21 inch back on and it still misses the trim but only just

Great tip! I just put on a 21" blade, but next time it is 20". I use RainX instead of Windex to clean my windshield and don't use the wiper blade in rain, just snow.
