Default 2000 Jaguar xj8

I had need a jump and the car had started back up and I drove it home , it died again so I got another jump to put into my driveway . Installed a new battery and alternator. I gave it another jump didn't start , I'm not sure if I jumped this in the right spot , went and got another battery no start just crank . Fail safe mode and restricted performance mode came on .

I Tried replacing the BCM no go
I tried replacing the computer no go
Each time it crank but no start fail safe mode and restricted performance mode.
I don't have the original key but I finally got the key fob to work , I have only the reprogram key in hand .

I don't have a Jaguar scanner
21 codes are on

Welcome to the forums Jedidiah,

Take a big step backwards. Don't immediately go for the 'nuclear' option of throwing modules at the vehicle.

Members with the same model will be able to offer less drastic troubleshooting advice on this set of codes.

As there is codes from multiple ecm controlled devices that do work with 5V or 12V i'd quess that there is either ecm grounding issue or ecm voltage issue. Remove all the codes you can. Then when the issue comes on, do not use jump starter?. Read the codes and continue from those. It is never always the module or part that is failed.

I'm thinking like Vauxi. Looks like you are getting "circuit low" and "maf ground" malfunctions. I suggest to check the engine to body ground strap. Its a heavy duty braided cable underneath the car on the passenger side (US) between the chassis and one of the bell housing bolts if I recall correctly, but you can't miss it. Its well documented here on the forum that this strap, because it hangs down in the elements (such as salt spray if you live in the snow belt) can become dirty/corroded in between the braids or even just the bolts come loose at either end and cause all sorts of mayhem. I replaced one when I was having some random intermittent no start conditions (tho I wasn't getting a whole slew of codes like you are) and it seemed to clear it up. Good luck and HTH.
