2000 VDP gearbox fault

Hi Delbert, I agree with your "wait and see attitude". The transmission shop probably fills all its gearboxes with this combination of fluid, and if the fluid caused failures, they would be out of business. Not the ideal situation, but if problems appear, they will happen gradually, and not catastrophically.

Just a quick update for anyone interested. So far, so good. It's still early, I know, but got about 500 miles on the transmission job. Went on a 250 mile road trip last weekend......everything appears good. No odd noises...shifts great.....keeping fingers crossed.
