2000 VDP not starting
Gents,
I'm needing help in a bad way... I recently hydroplaned and spun my lovely lady into a shallow embankment. As my baby could not get herself unstuck from the muck and shallow water, she could start up and kept me warm until the tow truck arrived. After our experience in the mire, a quick body detail followed as well as afurther inspection, my lady and I were back on the road. It was not until two days had passed that I attempted to start her up in order to move her from the garage to the driveway that I found that she will crank, I would hear a whirrrr but no start up...
On other posts I noticed that there was a suggestion that the fuel cut off switch may have been tripped but I am not sure that this advise applies to me as my model, a 2000 XJ8 VDP, is not referrenced.
With gas priceswherethey are, believe it or not, Isave on driving her as opposed to my other option, a 2000 Lincoln Navigator, ( it costs $5 bucks just to start the beast!).
I currently have 106k on her, and to my knowledge, the previous owner had not replaced the starter. Please point me in the right directionso that I can getmy cat purring again...
Thanks in advance..

The morelikely scenario is the engine is flooded.
Your inertia switch will not just trip 2 days after accident.
I am not able to do so right now, but if you search the xj8 threads, look for one by NorCalDiesel. It is this problem with full solution to getting it started.
Good luck.

Ok, 20 mins. in and the batteries' Kaput..., The beast, (the Navigator), is now charging the battery on my attempts to start. I did mention that it's just whirring and not actually trying to catch or crank up right?
Is there anything more I should be trying? And when do I know when to stop, when canitno longertake it?
