Help.

Got the Jag and love it but the sound system is driving me nuts. The premium sound system works on the right side and rear deck basser.(cd and radio)

Sound only comes through the left rear tweeter. The main left door speakers and left front post tweeter are quiet. Swapped out the amp with same results.

I have another radio head but don't know how to remove the old one. My JTIS CD hasn't been much help. Can someone give me simplw instrustions so that I don't destroy my beautiful interior.

The likely scenario is that the speakers are bad.
I would remove the door panels and swap good speaker with bad and see if sound now comes to good speaker in bad location. If this is the case, replace the speakers. I replaced mine in the vdp with MB Quart. The door speakers are 6 1/2".
If you definitly want to aim for the radio first, let us know and we can tell you how, I do however recommend speakers first....and should do them as a matter of course for superior sound quality.

I popped the bottom loose on both left side doors, pulled the plugs from the door dpeakers,andwired intest speakers. The rear one made sound, the front one did not.

I have a set of (12) Alpines from a 2004 XJ8. How do they stack up?

They are still not as good as aftermarket speakers. The best speakers in Jags or lower sound quality than lower end aftermarket.

If the speakers still didn't work even with new amp and new speakers. Either wiring from audio unit or audiounit itself is bad. Audio unit is normally not the cause, but periodically it is.

I have another head unit and willcheck that next for wiring probs byplug and playtechnique.

Now how do I pull the unit? My JTIS doesn't offer a lot of help for R&R.

You have Jtis....you need to find removal of center console.

Remove the J-gate surround, unplugg the sport mode and cruise switches. Remove the 4 7mm (2 nuts, 2 bolts) and then remove the wood surround. Then you have to remove the rear vent....to do this, VDP, remove the flat wood tray.....the wood comes out, there is two phillips screws under neath that. Remove them, and unplug the heated seat switches. Next, pop out the rear vent assembly and disconnect the lighter plugs. Take out the two phillips head screws at bottom rear of center console. Next, pull off the center vent wood surround on dash. Remove the two 30 torx bolts holding the front of the console in. Then remove the center console. Unplug the front lighter element on the way out....and the phone if it has it.
Radio is self explanatory once console is out. Look at the way the climate panel and audio unit are mounted. Put it back that way. Do not overtighten the scews on radio, the mounting tabs will snap off very easy.
Installation is reverse.
