2000 XJ8 won't run
A few weeks ago the car was running fine but began to miss and went to restricted performance so it barely ran to make it home. After the car set for a few weeks, I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. When I finally pulled the codes yesterday they were, P0302,P1313, P1316, P0352 P1642 and P1111.
I replaced the plugs with the correct NGK plugs, it had Bosch plugs and there was no oil in the plug wells.
As to coils, the number #2 coil was replaced previously by someone and was not a denso, and since P0302 related to the #2 coil, I ordered a new coil.
After replacing plugs, the car would not start and now I realize it seems to have hardly any compression. When I get the coil, should I put a little oil down each cylinder and try again, could it be the timing chain slipped a tooth, now it pops on maybe one cylinder and cranks fast like no compression?
Thanks for any help on this.

Welcome to the forum. It does sound like a case of bore wash at this time, but the observations you have made do point toward a possible tensioner failure or even broken chain.
It would be best to remove both cam covers and make certain the secondary tensioners and chains are intact and the cam flats line up correctly before attempting to start it again.

Thanks omgimali, these files really helped me understand the situation, especially the 61 page tensioner guide, etc. replacement. I am now in a holding pattern with the tensioner work, as the owner may want to go to a mechanic as to doing the work (I am doing this all for free since it's the girlfriend's brother and we do use the car sometimes). Yesterday I checked the compression and found it was uniformly low 65-95 lbs. I also discovered the fuel filter connection between the tank and filter was seeping and not tight when I changed the filter(maybe causing low fuel pressure?). I also researched getting tools needed and parts, was surprised tensioners were so blatantly bad and presuming there was no recall, amazing it affects Land Rover and Lincon vehicles too.
