2000 XJR still seems slow to warm up (new t-stat)

Gentlemen,
Now that it's steadily in the 20s here, my XJR seems slow to get up to operating temp unless I first let it warm up for 10 mins or so. This is the case no matter if the car sits overnight outside at home or all day outside at work. When it does get to normal temp, it stays there but as I said, unless I warm the car up, it's slow to get there. I replaced the t-stat about two months ago for a similar symptom. Does it sound like the new stat could be faulty?
