2001 Jag XJR - Frozen Shift cable (Rust!)
Hello all. I need some advice, ideas...
I finally figured out why my shifter was malfunctioning. It was the shift cable. It was rusted or seized up tight. No longer moves. I have to say, it was another time I was PO'd at Jaguar Engineering on this. Why would thi be the case on a 2001?
Any ideas? Finding a new one is a joke. Finding a good used onenis also a joke. Can these be repaired and reused? Does anyone sell replacements for these "shoulda been recalled items"? I need to put this car back together.

Years ago when I worked for a Pontiac dealer, we had a few seized shifter cables on Firebirds. Turned out to be a poor engine ground and the cable would act as the ground, eventually causing it to seize. Look for corroded/loose ground points regarding engine to frame as well. Widen your search to the west out of the rust belt.
