2001 jaguar xj8 lower expansion tank
Ok guys if you could help me out. Today i went to the store and when i got home my antifreeze was gushing out of my lower expansion tank. There is a little hose in top of the expansion tank which is fine then when i look towards the bottom i see like a spot for a hose to connect to. Is there supposed to be a hose there or a plug? I crawed under the car and seen no hose for it. So im wondering if its supposed to be a plug? If you know please let me know thanks.

The lower tank is called 'Atmospheric Catchment Tank". There is a hole for the OVERFLOW and it is designed to be left OPEN.
The black plastic hose on the top of the coolant reservoir goes directly to the top of the Catchment Tank.
You either have the reservoir hoses connected INCORRECTLY or the engine is overheating and forcing coolant out into the Catchment Tank.

The hoses are connected correctly and the car isnt overheating by the gauge. Come to think about it i havent heard the fan kick on lately so i will check that out next. To see if its running or not. Do you think it could be from the fan not running?
Thank you for the fast reply.
