2001 throttle

Hi, does the 2001 3.2 xj8 use an accelerator cable or is it fly by wire?

Don't know that any 3.2L cars made it to the US so you are not going to get many responses from this side of the pond. Since everything else is pretty much the same I would guess that the throttle is also.

It uses a throttle cable, but it's used to send the message to the electronic actuator - as in fly by wire as you assume, it's also the same unit fitted to 4.0 and s/c, hope this helps.
