Unhappy 2001 XJ8 fuel leak

Ran over some wood (2x4 remnants) and it jammed up above differential and split open what looks to be a plastic? fuel line between the tank and filter. Immediately ran out of fuel and coasted to the side and shut vehicle off to stop fuel leak. Is this something difficult to repair, doesnt look like it tore fuel line out of tank. Thanks if any one has any ideas

The line should be steel and it may have pulled out your feed lines from the bottom of the tank? Can you get us some pictures for us to help evaluate it?

Both the feed and return lines coming directly out of the fuel tank are a combination of steel and hard black nylon pieces (see picture here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...advise-131663/)

Towed it to a highly recommended Jaguar only facility and they are replacing the plastic lines and have checked and are replacing the plastic chain tensioners with metal ones. They felt the car was in great shape and so it warranted the investment. Am getting too old to climb UNDER cars with no hydraulic lift. Thanks Highhorse and Samilcar for your inputs.

Good news is its the nylon part and more easily fixed than if the tank connections were pulled out. The tensioners are a good investment and won't take them long....good luck with her.

Don't you just hate it when some clown always looking for a shortcut!
I reckon those tank fixings have been bent by the 'undo straps and lean tank forward' in the trunk caper ;o]
