This is what sucks about an integrated system, you wind up chasing ghosts. Do you know if the head unit has been out before? I am wondering if the yellow connector on the back is properly seated? But, I don't believe you'd have your other functions if it wasn't.
After being on for awhile, does the amp warm up? Put your hand on it, say after having the system on for 5-10 minutes, a ride to the grocery store or whatever and back.

There are lots of places to lose signal in the audio system.
Probably the best thing to do, unless you have a lot of time and proper testing tools, is to take it to a car audio shop and get them to run some diagnostics on the system.
Might cost you $50 or less, or nothing at the right shop and you wouldn't be chasing ghosts.

When I bought my 2001 XJ8, the radio had no sound from the speakers. A few days later a customer brought in a car with the premium sound so I installed my amp in that car and there was NO SOUND from the speakers.
I found a good-used at a salvage yard for something like $50 or $75 and installed it.
It only takes a few minutes to plug in the amp to see if it works. Then you can remove the fasteners and swap it out if it works.

The Head unit has never been removed as I have owned this car for 4 years now and it is my everyday driver. Also have checked and replaced all Audio fuses just to be safe. It is hard to tell if the amp is hot or not as it is 90 outside and my car is Black so it feels hot no matter what but thank you for the suggestion. I just bought a used amp on Ebay for $40 and am waiting for delivery. Will keep you guys updated on weather it works or not, in waiting mode but boy you don't realize how nice it is to have music or even talk radio until you have silence for a commute. Keep catching myself hitting the volume button on the steering wheel.
