I'm helping a friend who owns a 2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas. One of the AC control wheels in the center console got pushed into the dash. I removed the center wood-grain panel, and the 4 screws securing the AC vent panel. I need to remove the passenger side air bag panel in order to completely remove the AC panel. I don't want to set off the airbag. How do I go about removing this panel? Is is secured with clips, or what? Thanks!

dspikes, prior to removing the airbag, you need to disconnect the battery. After that, let the car sit for about 5 minutes. This will ensure that any residual power in the car will be disappated. This will prevent the airbag from deploying in your hands. From there, you will need to remove the glove box. After that, you will need to pull outwards on the door over the air bag. This will expose 4 nuts holding the airbag in place. Remove those and then disconnect the electrical plug. From here you can pull the airbag from the vehicle.
Of note, with the airbag out of the vehicle, make sure the airbag is free of any objects in the vicinity in the unlikely case that the airbag does deploy, it will not cause items to be tossed. Also, don't place the airbag face down on any surface.
Hope this helps.
