2002 VDP Timing Chain Mod Prep

Today I pick up our 2002 VDP w/ 77k on it. Full service records since the build date June 2002, one owner, timing chains or tensioners are not within service documentation...
I must've read 100+ threads about the timing chain tensioners, chain guides, early x308 all plastic, then the plastic tensioners w/ springs and finally the all metal ones. I've noticed several discrepancies during my readings, especially from other sites which actually sell the all-metal (3rd gen??) timing chain kits...
Were the chains themselves improved after 2001 to a heavier chain?
The actual cutoff for plastic chain tensioners is end of August 2002, correct?
Since mine is a June 2002 build, I assume I have the heavier chain, but plastic tensioners and guides, which should be replaced with the superior metal system. Is this correct?
I've read some Lincoln 3.9L engine parts fit the Jag 4.0L engine, such as gaskets and the upper tensioners. I've seen 1998-2001 Jaguar when mentioning Lincoln parts. Do the Lincoln parts still fit the 2002? What about the guides and chains themselves? Are the guides and chains for the Lincoln 3.9L the pre 2001 design, thus smaller?
To keep it brief, I am trying to obtain all parts necessary to perform the entire timing chain system modification in the most cost effective manner without sacrificing quality. I've sourced kits sold in England and they seem to be hundreds less than those sold in the US, but I do not know the cost of freight. Is it more cost effective to piecemeal this kit together by using gaskets and upper tensioners from the Lincoln and the chains and guides from Jaguar? I feel like I'm making assumptions based on reading hundreds of posts and websites, but would like to hash it out before making the plunge.
