2002 XJ8 Transmission problems (Transgo?)

I finished the Transgo valve change and am now driving the car. I don’t know what I did wrong. When starting from a stop the car pulls hard and sometimes bang into gear. It seems to be not starting from first gear. After getting to fifteen or twenty miles per hour it goes with a lot of power like normal. It appears to me that the car never starts from first gear , otherwise it drives normal. The little engine symbol stays and on and and the orange warning light comes on shortly after driving a piece and stays on. Also the red warning light comes and does the same. The car was sitting for six months while I accumulated items for the Transgo valve, filter and the transmission fluid change. Rhanks for any help.

Without a FULL vehicle scan (ALL modules) there is going to be a BUNCH of guessing and wasted time.
BOTH the speedo and gearbox threads you have going would benefit from all the modules read for current content.
The gearbox wants info about speed on the CAN bus so all faults might be related to a common problem?

I read two codes, P1722 and P1000. The check engine light will come on. No more codes. P1722 refers to stall speed. P1000 refers to "System check not complete since last memory clear.". I have cleared codes and check engine light and scanned again, same codes. I can stop, shut off engine, and the warning lights will be off when I start the engine again. When I put the car in drive and go, the red warning light will come on in about thirty seconds and the amber warning light will come on in about another thirty seconds. I am going to check the transmission fluid level and temperature tomorrow. My problems may be also attributed to electrical. My speedometer and odometer are not working. They were not working before I changed Transgo pressure valve, transmission filter, and refilled with transmission fluid. I will also check the connection in the instrument panel, try to determine that problem. I will be looking for the diagram that shows which wires go to what in the connector.
Thanks for reading.

You are only reading the ECM.
There are modules throughout the car and a dealer level reader can provide DTC info but a generic device is NOT going to do that!
A COMPLETE SCAN will yield more results but you are going to have to find someone with a better 'scanner' that you currently are using.
