Default 2002 XJR radiator thats not a grand?

I am a blithering idiot and punctured my radiator doing a pulley swap today (tool fell off when removing wrench) and I cant seem to find one under $860 plus shipping. Anyone know where I could get one for a better deal? None of the local chains can even get one and Rockauto has no listing. Thanks in advance

I'd still message that eBay vendor he has a huge inventory & is very reasonable.

His email :

XJ8 and XJR (X308) radiators are exactly the same. The 2004 (X350) on up radiators are much different. I'd source a good used one if I was you.

Thank you for clarifying. I had read in two places that the R had an oil cooler but I can see all the same cooler lines on those used XJ8 radiators. I really hate putting used parts on this car as I have only bought the best for it but at nearly a grand after fluids its a hard pill to swallow. I am lucky I am a shop with proper equipment so I can evac the AC system to even do the job.
This is one time I wish the hood hinged the other way.

What was confusing me is like this thread where he says they are different:

That sucks OP, hate when stuff like that happens. Do they not make full aluminum radiators for the XJR's?

I think the SC rad is a separate unit ahead of the engine rad. Same for the oil cooler, it's one of those tubes below the radiators with the fuzzy metal wire heatsinks. Also jaguarclassicparts only shows one PN for the engine cooler, no separate PN for SC/NA.

Might try car-part.com?

If you do decide to go with a used one, the ironically named "American Auto Parts, Inc." on Penn Street in Irving Texas specializes in Jaguars of our vintage. I've bought quite a few parts from them directly. They seem to sell mostly on Ebay, but they do have a real storefront in an old industrial district. I'm almost certain they'd have a radiator.

But don't give yourself too hard a time. If misery loves company, I once knocked a turbocharger off my workbench, shattering the housing and bending the shaft and everything when it hit the concrete floor. Another time I had a friend's car in my shop and accidentally rolled a tool cart into his car door, leaving a quarter sized dent and scratching the paint. Sometimes these things just happen.

I believe the only other radiator option available would be to send your old one to Wizard Cooling in NY. They can make you a brand new all aluminum one and it’s not a grand. We had a radiator and the S/C radiator made for an Aston and it came out great. Granted it’s not cheap but their quality was top notch. If I can remember right it was about $600 for just the radiator about 3 years ago.

Jaguar Heaven salvage yard in California probably has some. 800-969-4524. I've dealt with them a number of times over the years and have had good luck.

You can clean up a used radiator and wipe down the plastic parts with Wipe New plastic restorer. That stuff is absolutely amazing. Have to do it outside or it will knock you out, but it works great.

So I put in a brand new Jaguar OEM radiator today and the darn thing didn’t even come with a drain plug. It was in a sealed box that it came in.

Question: Where are people having them fail ? No one I know has ever replaced -- mostly "R'" so protected. Is it a corrosion problem ..... ?

All of the radiators I’ve replaced was from damage, not corrosion or a leaking side tank.
