2002 XJR Repair Fun
Hello Everyone! I am new to posting on this site but have been getting advice from already written threads for the past two days since I had a bad coolant leak. Through the thread on removing the supercharger I have successfully removed the Throttle body, EGR Valve, intake manifold, coolant expansion tank, and supercharger.
As of now I will be installing new heater hose, thermostat, and both belts.
The car has just over 103,000 miles and I was curious what other items I should replace or clean while I have all these parts disassembled and have easy access to the engine.
I was thinking of changing the plugs and water pump as well as preventative maintenance and possibly the s/c pulley for some extra oomph. I wanted to take care of everything preventative now as well as some fun items to help with the HP's. anything you guys can think of would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yes and the cooling systems hoses will most likely be replaced since it has been on on going issue. Bottom line is I want it all done now.
100k on the odometer sounds like a good mileage to have everything done. I look forward to helping and getting help in the future.
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys thanks for all your help with my project. Everything is now put back together but now I have more issues. After everything being put back together after taking the supercharger off the engine shakes violently and there is a loud sound of air leaking during idle. When I throttle on the power the shaking diminishes but the hiss sound from the air leak is there still. I'm guessing I have a misfire but not sure if it has to do with the hissing sound as all and maybe I'm loosing compression? During the original repair I had to replace the fuel lines that extend from the right to left bank because I cracked it. This means I had to pull up the injectors and put them back in. Any suggestions or help would be great. Where should I start on the diagnoses? I was thinking checking for a misfire but wanted to see if the hiss was an issue that is correlated with the violent shaking and sound of the engine? It's also wired because their is no check engine light on which I though would be the case with a misfire. Please help, I need to get my jag back on the rd and enjoy it.
thanks
thanks

Many vehicles require the injector seals to be replaced if the injectors have been removed for any reason. As a rule, anytime I have to disturb a rubber part that is more than 5 years old, it gets replaced due to the nature of these parts. With 100k+ on the odometer I'd strongly recommend this if it wasn't done.
Since the sound of the air is so loud, one way to help pin-pont it is a smoke test. A moist cigar or other source of thick smoke that can be directed near the running engine should help pinpoint where the air is getting pulled in. CAUTION: make sure you are not putting the burning object near a fuel source. Some auto parts stores loan smoke machines.
Good luck (and post pictures )
