So as I was out on a stretch of interstate today traveling with a Dodge charger we played around a little bit. Finally we both stepped down in it I kept up with the charger for a good while until about 115 miles an hour when my car stopped accelerating. So I've read and I researched and I saw that everyone says top speed is 150 mph however I am sure that I hit a speed limiter at 115 it was very smooth and it would not allow up shifts either until you back down to about 112. I saw on the form that one other the person had the same experience on an 03 x 308 so just wondering what gives?

I might not be remembering this correctly. It might apply to the X350 rather than X308. But.....here goes....
There was a period around 2003-2004 where Jaguar was fitting a high performance tire which gave remarkably low tread life. Owners were complaining of having to replace tires every 8000-10000 miles. In response Jaguar began fitting a lower performance, higher tread life tire....and tweaked the system to limit top speed commensurate with the lower speed rating of the tires. This was USA market cars only as I recall.
Let's hear what others have to say.
Cheers

I am not going to mention the actual speed I have had the Duchess because it appears we might
have a very protective moderator. I can say it was well past that mentioned in the title.
On the track it completed the 1/4 mile in around 14.46 seconds which isn't too bad for
a big old luxury automobile.
