Default 2003 XJ8 - Which keyfob to buy?

I've researched and researched and I am finding it super frustrating to find a replacement key fob. I have the LNC2600HD SLM unit that states 315 mHz.
My car did not come with any fobs and my Launch X431 scanner will not connect to the SLM as it states "Secure access denied".
Ive tried several models including Ford's 315 mhz. When searching my XJ8's year I find only the flip key fobs available.

Is there a model number of any key fobs I can search for to find one that will work with the headlight/ignition programming sequence?

If yours is a 2003 as described in your profile, then you might want to look for a
LJE2610BB
(from VIN F20645, Jaguar p/n and frequency are not written on the remote):

My VIN ends in F55374. I am only seeing the 433 mHz remotes for that model. Would that be the correct remote even though it states 315 mhz on the SLM?

F59525 is the last X308 so it is a 2003MY and the North American market uses 315mhz rolling code from VIN F20645.

Different countries/markets use different frequencies.(NA did not use 433mhz in the later cars)

Apparently the (FCC I.D.) keyfob transmitter CWTWB1U322 will work with the cars from VIN F20645.

Thanks for the info. I ordered it. It'll be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if it works.

I have these here currently from another recommendation on another forum but the car doesn't respond to them during programming.

Nope, the key fob from that link will not program to my XJ8. No red blinks indicating that it's registering the button presses.

It is also possible that there is something wrong with your SLM or its antenna. Did you check the connection of the SLM antenna cable to the top centre of the rear windscreen? It is as shown on the pictures:

I had a customer car once that had the coax to the SLCM loose at the module input.
Screwed the coax onto the input and everything was fine.

I bought the pair from AMAZON for about $10 with tax and they configure fine to my 2001 XJ8.
The red horn button turns the headlamps on just like the original Jaguar transmitter button in the same lower left location.
North American 315mhz 'rolling-code transmitter' should work on all 2001MY> X100 and X308.

Wish I could find a generic transmitter for the 1997-2000MY X100 and 1998-2000MY X308.(LJA2610AA)

It isn't connected to the window.
The pin that connector snaps to is stuck in the connector. Looks like the solder failed? How would I reattach the pin to the window?

Even tho, the remote should work when right next to the cable and it doesn't.

My connector isn't attached to the window.

Looks like the pin that is normally attached to the window separated from the window at the solder joint and is stuck in the connector.

I will reattach it with some conductive glue. Also, shouldn't the remote still program even if placed right next to the connector during the process? Because it's not working.

I replaced my SLM today with the same LNC2600HD model. Still doesn’t work with the fob listed above.

I did notice that there’s a red price sticker style label on both the new and old SLM’s that has a 98 date on it. Would this be an indicator that my SLM was made in 1998 and would need an earlier model 315 MHz remote?
I repaired the window antenna with some conductive window defroster tab glue.

According to the VCATS it's supposed to be a LNG2600HB. But the car came with a LNC2600HD. Wouldn't that be compatible with the last character being higher and not lower?

ALL SLCM with a part number LNC2600Hx/xxx are for TO VIN F20644. (up to the end of 2000MY)

The LNG2600Hx/xxx are FROM VIN F20645 ONWARD>(2001MY onward)

You need the LNG2600xx/xxx part number

Someone replaced your SLCM with the earlier NON rolling code unit.(early hard-to-find remotes)

Would an earlier hard to find remote work if I were to purchase? The LNG2600xx units are about $150 more than I paid for this replacement. ($58 on Galaxy Jaguar)

The early LJA2610AA keyfob transmitters should work fine.(will configure to the LNC2600Hx/xxx)
The LJE2610AB (rolling-code) transmitters are the easier to get Ford units for less than $10 each.(will configure to the LNG2600Hx/xxx)
