The engines are pretty bullet proof, if one forgets some of the early issues they had (and some head gasket failures on 4.0 cars), at least that is my experience so far. Remember these cars are also used on the German autobahn, at higher powerlevels/speeds then you probably driven it.
So something has failed and before you slide in a new engine (i.e. a 4.2 for example), it’s better to find the root cause before you swap bad parts. A possibility could have been an injector not working properly, causing a leaner mixture.

If you are set on the twin-screw, you might consider doing it at the same time to save on labour. Even if it means you have to store the car for a while to save up more money. As a matter of fact, take the liability insurance off it during storage and use the payments savings towards the cost of the twin screw.
If the engine is toast, it is pointless to pay a mechanic to determine the root cause. The money would be better directed towards a replacement engine and injector cleaning. After the new engine is installed is the time to check that fueling is adequate.
Doesn't the car have a rev-limiter?

I was getting codes on and off a few weeks months before this happened... one was p1111 which is nothing serious ...I was getting another one which i believe is p0136 ...... it would occure when I would push the car in the higher revs ...I would get the codes and delete them and the would come back a few weeks later...
I wrote down the codes...I will go get them ....and report back..
Anyways I couldn' t feel any performance issues so I figured it was nothing...at the end of the day I think I may have failed my car not the other way around.
Yes the car does have a limiter....I just remember it shifting right at 6k red line area before it started smoking...
Will report back the codes...

Better to look it up and confirm, but P0136 was a fueling code from another thread. Memory says the description included the words "fuel" and "lean". If that was true, then the engine leaned out at the top end and the redline is coincidental except that if the ECM cut fuel at redline to lower revs, but did not cut spark in time.
The code listing particular to Jaguar is in one of the stickies at the top.
In the future, a wideband AFR gauge might be a wise investment under heavy boost. The turbo guys consider it an absolute must.
