2003 XJR Hot "No Start?"
2003 XJR 4.0l (X308, X350 or X358???...Overlapping Designations? VIN...
F50806)
2-hr interstate run, mid-80 degs. F, 70-90 mph, Jag running/shifting perfectly. No unusaal noises, NO CEL, coolant temp steady "dead center." Stop for gas, maybe 5-10 mins. On re-start, engine spins normally, NO RESTART !!! 2 Messages: Gearbox Fault (or Temperature) AND Fail Safe Engine Mode. (No runs or drips) Opened hood, let cool for maybe 1 hr., started right up! Continued to run and shift normally (S-Mode) for next 2 hrs on I-20 and I-95. Parked at destination. Next morning, started and ran PERFECTLY. 70 to 100 mph for maybe 2 hrs, refuel (LEFT IT RUNNING), and ran perfectly all the way home!!! No CEL, no unusual noises, perfect shifts. Any ideas out there? Should I drain and flush trans, clean filter and change to Red Line? A mystery !!! EHT Aiken, SC

Fuel pump?
I had more of a cold start problem, but it didn't go on long enough to see if it would happen hot. There are two pumps, you can check them by pulling relays. The car should run with only one pump.
My experience is documented here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...t-cold-134834/
