But having the pure luxury, that can go fast (and turn mean!) at any time, is what I want. My VDP (Garfield), is just that,.... a beautiful BIG cat, lazy, and comfortable it it's skin. I LOVE it, and I'll never get rid of it. But when I want to play,.....I NEED the "R"!
And I can just imagine the look on my buddy's face when I drive this by his radar! An "old" car with BA11S, and out of Britain for all places!
And by now I know exactly what I want (few were offered to me lately):
2003 (no ifs or buts)
One owner
Service records
Less than 100K miles
BLACK!
SoCal only (driving distance from me),.....drove a LOT to look at the cars that were described as "excellent", "flawless", etc. and I was pi$$ed, now imagine if I spent the money on the airfare too! Being OCD, and ex military, "flawless" and "pristine" has a different meaning for me.
Price is not an issue.
Is this too much to ask?

daniel, I see no reason to not get an 02. You will pay more for a 1 month difference in many cases, alothough the difference I noticed was that my 2002 said "trunk" instead of "boot" on the central computer. Huge plus that the 03 has British language programmed in.
Black is great but the blue is an instant turn on when you find it, it looks
Black but has a metallic blue flake in light. Brighter the light, more overwhelmingly blue. I was only considering Carnival red, BRG, blue or black 03s for my car.
I looked at an R1 that needed so much... they all need stuff, luckily mine
needed hardly anything. Also cost $3100 than the R1 that needed a lot
of $ invested.
Daniel, in FL in Jacksonville's Jaguar dealer, also craigslist is the nicest I've seen in a while. <$16k, 58mi, blue, no tint. There used to also be a black R1 in
Altanta when I was looking but it was a little too worn out. One owner is
unlikely to be found. Mine had 4 owners. All of whom had $$$ luckily. I bought
it from a private collection.
An XJR-100 will command a premium but will be more likely to be one
Owner.

The difference in HP between the XJR and the XJ Sport is nearly 100hp.... big difference. The Audi has twin turbo chargers and costs over $100k... I can buy a XJR for under 10k and add a twin screw and other mods for another 10k and get to 60 in 3.5-3.9 sec and sub 12sec 1/4 mile without issues. On top of that... the Jaguar has character where the Audi is a typical soulless car being pumped out of germany lately(and i'm a huge Mercedes fan).
The XJR's are vastly underrated cars running quick times for early 2000 production cars. Their skidtrack is .88g which is remarkable considering newer Mercs/BMW's are doing that today.
There is no doubt that selective lightening, increased power and a slightly wider stance would yield fantastic results vs $150k sedans and sports cars of today. Nothing makes me happier that blowing away a Ferrari 360 from a red light and letting him pull back up to laugh at him.
