Default 3rd gen tensioner fail?

Hi all

I just replaced all 4 chains/tensioners/guides on my 2000 XJ8. Upon fitting I found one main tensioner to be less "eager" than the other after I puller the locking pin. My buddies said that the oil pressure would cure that, but now, when revving I have a chattering noise (most likely a chain). I'm afraid I'll be pulling the tensioner again, but this seems to be really strange?
Any input welcome,

Anoud

Could be a defective part. It can happen.

Did you use the shorter bolts, the original bolts restrict oil to the tensioner when using new Gen 3 metal tensioners
