Default 4.0 to 4.2 crank pulley replacement

I've been in need of a new crank pulley since mine is damaged. I found an STR at the junkyard with what seems like a good pulley, though it's on a 4.2 engine. I've read up and it seems like the pulley design is slightly different so the timing cover needs to be swapped over from the 4.2 as well, and the accessory belt will be 6 rib instead of 7 rib.

When looking online for a new pulley it looks like the 4.0 pulley part has been superseded by a newer pulley compatible with the 4.2's as well, part no. AJ811117. If I were to buy one of these new would it be identical to the 4.2 STR pulley, and therefore require the same accommodations? Or is it a different pulley than the original 4.2?

From what you post (if your not in a hurry), it seems practical to go ahead and order the part, then spec it out vs the bad one. Especially if your ordering from a shop, bring your old one to match it up on their counter. If it doesn't match, return it and go the route of the thread you included....if it does, your golden and only doing 1/3 of the work.

I'll keep that in mind, will call around shops to see if any have one lying around. While a new one would be preferable, there's an order of magnitude cost difference between one new and one at the junkyard...

Since I probably can't drive the jag for a little while anyway, I'll hold off on it until it becomes more pressing. Maybe by then a 4.0 s/c will show up at a breaker or junkyard nearby. Having done primary and secondary timing components recently, I'd rather avoid having to tear most of that down again to put a 4.2 front cover on, then get new gaskets for that, and so on.
