88 VDP psgr side window is possessed
I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 99 VDP and without warning the passenger side window sometimes goes down. It began originally if I put down the driver's side window. AFter putting it back up -then the psgr side would go down. After going down it won't go back up unless I reset the system (by unplugging the battery)
Now, the psgr side window just goes down at will. Just driving along and poof! down it goes. It's upsetting and annoying. I'm also getting tired of pulling the car over, opening the truck, pulling off the battery cable for a minute and then going back in the car and putting the window back up.
Help??

It's not cool! well it is cool in that when it was cold and the window went down it got cool in the car!!
And thanks for the suggestion but tried that sort of. I pulled the fuse for the passenger door but that doesn't seem to work. I believe because driver's side door also controls passenger side door it still goes down.
This morning as I was driving to work...poof....down it went. I swear it's haunted.

Alas, in desperation I took the car to be fixed. Good reputable mechanic who is authorized Jag.
$1800+ and counting
turns out it is the driver's side window regular.....but oh, you have to have your valve covers replaced (they leak) and btw you need new front brakes.
rats and cats...but at least it will be fixed. That driver's side window going down every few minutes was gettting old fast!

Why were they under your hood and have your wheels off?I guess youwere getting an oil change and rotate while you were already there huh. Makes sense, but the 1800 dosen't. Unless you were being vague. Good job on getting the problems taken care of though.

Sorry, didn't mean to be vague. A better description would be realllllly annoyed!
The original problem was replacement of the master window switch in the driver's door (to fix the window going up and down at will on the passenger side) was only $325.00
BUT.... I had mentioned a burning smell. Turns out Jags over 50,000 miles (per the dealership) have a tendency to need the plastic valve covers replaced. So cam sensor seal, spark plug tube seals, vc seal washer, left vc gasket, right vc gasket, bolt seals = $601.72
Install new brakes - yes needed front brakes it seems too + another $608.86
Something called a new secondary timing chain tensioners, chain tensioners, hex bolts, etc another $462.82 and
it came to $2300.
Ouch
but at least the window works now.
