Hey guys,
nice to read this, at the moment i try the same but it's not easy like it looks.
Since ive started, i made 3-4 molds to find the perfect material for casting, but i hope my next try would be my masterpiece.

Also a very big problem is to eleminate the bubbles inside the material which is casted in the mould...

Overall i can say it is not impossible to make clear lenses...

If you cast the parts in clear plastic, you need to put your mold into a "pressure pot" and apply @ 50-60 psi to the mold until the material cures. This will eliminate the air bubbles in the finished product. I'm still having issues getting the mold "perfect"

 

I'm looking all the time for an pressure pot which is big enough but its not easy to find....

 

Having only the front turn signals clear and yellow side markers would look really odd. Don't care much about the red rear side markers; at least they match the tailights.

 

I'm going to the source tomorrow evening, hopefully I'll be able to get all 6pcs that we need

 

im with SteveM the front indicators need to be the same color, but i would prefer to have all 6 indicators the same color

 

so, what's the concesus? do we have enough confirmed participants to proceed?

 

Aren't the rear side markers the same as the front side markers, except for the color of the lens?

I have an extra set of front turn signals and front side markers, complete with housings.
If the rears are different, and someone else can provide them......I will donate my front sets to the cause. Let me know soon before I destroy them trying to make a mold...LOL

I am going to try to get the entire set of all needed lights this afternoon, if the guy won't give me a good enough deal I will just buy the back ones from him and the we will have all that we need to send to clearz

Hopefully at that point all we have to do is wait.

one of the rear ones has some cracks (not enough to impede their duplication for molding in my opinion) but the rest are perfect

where am I sending them and with what message?

Looks like its starting to happen, lets keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully one day all my orange lenses and reflectors will be of the clear type!!!

 

I got the entire set for $110, so 110/19 people = $5.79. If we could get clearz to increase everyone's order price by $5.79 and then discount my order by $110 I'd be happy
