98 xj8 ecm meltdown

On a 1998 xj8 4.0 NAS, has anyone had the ECM burn up where the EM15 plug comes in. The schmatic indicates this primarily controls the throttle motor. Wondering if this has happened to anyone before? And before I start tearing apart wiring harnesses trying to find a short, since the motor tested o.k.. Thanks for any input.

Without looking at the schematic I would think that the circuit would be a fairly high current one because of the effort it takes to manually move the throttle motor. Before tearing apart the harness perhaps you should check the connector for corrosion/loose connections.
