99 jag does not jump start, interior lights, radio, windows...none come on, but the alarm engages. is the Battery totally dead???

 

Let the other car charge the battery for at least 15-20 minutes. Then try it again. If that does not work, then replace the battery.

Jaguars do not like low or dead batteries, and certainly do not like being jump-started.

 

Follow the cables from the battery to the high power protection module in the trunk. Check the cables for tightness and condition. A loose connection there might do it.

 

Use heavy duty cables also - I helped someone with a jump start a short while ago - tried his "normal" cables no result. Tried my heavy duty cables and it fired up straight away.....

My Land Rover died in a parking lot once and I asked a guy for a jump. No dice. I thought, what the heck ? bad battery ? Got home and brought back a couple of tools and jumper cables. Messed around with battery cables and it started without the jump. Moral of story, it was a bad/corroded connection. Check your posts and grounds.
