'99 VandenPlas Door & Window Issues
Okay, so I'll try to give you guys as complete a picture as possible with what I'm dealing with:
Just got the car back from the body shop after a 2 week job turned into 2+ months (we all know how that goes). Aside from the fact that I'm not even remotely happy with the paint/body work, the car now has electrical issues that it didn't have before. Basically at this point let's go ahead and assume that all door panels have been removed and put back together as well as the center console/shifter area.
Current issues:
- 'Driver's Door Open' light on the dash when all the doors are closed. When you open ANY door - even the driver's - the 'Passenger Door Open' light comes on the dash. All doors are shut tight and appear to be sealed but the 'Driver's Door Open' light remains on.
- The main window switch appears to be BUGGERED. This is odd to me, because I just replaced it not 3 months ago. The memory seat functions work, the mirrors do not work at all. 3 of the 4 window up/down switches on the main switch do not operate - the only one that DOES work is the passenger side rear switch - which now appears to control the driver's window - and it works. All of the other individual window switches on their respective doors work as they should.
Wondering if the issues may be connected at all - body shop says they've had the door panels off and physically examined the wiring and switch - which appear to be in good physical condition. My first instincts are telling me that we may be looking at replacing a door check and the window switch (again) - but if you guys have any other suggestions before I start throwing parts at it - let me know please.
Side note: It only looks this good from 10 ft. away. Get any closer and it gets a lottt uglier real fast.
David

This is probably a simple one, and discussed before.
As they disconnected the door ECU(s), you will need a hard-reset to have them re-calibrated.
Go to your booth and get to your battery, disconnect the NEGATIVE clamp from the battery, and hold it at the POSITIVE for a bit.
Then re-connect, and probably your electric gremlins will be gone.
Unfortunately, it will not help the shady paintwork.
Nice car though!
