99 XJ-8 Engine Hunting
The other day, my 99 XJ8 wouldn't start. Changed the spark plugs, checked the fuel pump relays, still no joy.
The local shop identified a bad fuel pump.
I just picked up the car, and the engine is really hunting at idle now. Obviously I'm taking it back to the shop, but does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
Thanks

Yes it could be the MAF sensor. I had the same problem and it only took 15 mins to take the sensor out and clean it with an alcohol based spray. The wires in mine were totally black with deposits before I cleaned it. Car now has excellent tickover whereas before the tickover was very erratic and also stalled occasionally.
