Yes I just found out I'm still a newbie but I really appreciate the help this problem made for one of the most harrowing weekends I've ever had starting with me spending an entire day on the side of turnpike thanks to Verizon wireless's roadside non-assistance...
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I removed the battery in order to have it charged now when I turn on the ignition the display on the climate control says Er. I noticed this when attempting to start the car using the method of removing the fuse and relay for fuel pump 1. I'm going to have to remove it again so I'd like to prepare for any other problems.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me either, I get "incorrect part fitment" ??? as well as restricted performance. She seems to want to start but them just turns over so I guess its off to the parts store to replace the pumps. Any suggestions to make the job easier would be greatly appreciated. Also do I have to drain the tank its full?

There are a number of good threads about replacing pumps ( and diagnosing). I think you will want to drain the tank. It is a bit unwieldy and the extra weight won't help.

Fuelish...
Thanks for the heads up I'm more than likely going to tackle the job this week. Going to do my homework first and make sure the fuel pumps are the true culprits. When the car stalled it would start after and run roughly but had absolutely no power, wouldn't even move if put into drive and if you tried to give it any gas it would shut down.

Both pump are inside the gas tank. They opperate independant of one another and are removed through the top of the gast tank once the tank has been removed fromt the car. I belive the secondary pump works for about 3 seconds when the car is put on or past the run postition (probably a priming function). The Primary pump i believe clicks in durring crank and once the car is running. The secondary pump is only then activated at high speed.... at least this is my undestanding... someone else is welcome to correct if they know otherwise.

Started the removal today and I have to say that by knowing what to expect from the info on the forum sure made the job go easy. I removed the eight bolts that allow the differential to hang a little lower and popped the fuel lines out without much trouble at all, didn't even take 15 minutes. I have to say though design engineers dropped the ball on this one...
