ABS problems and outside temperature
I haven't found anyone having outside temperature. being a factor in ABS light being intermittent together with 'No Trac' / No ASC . Mine goes off under 55 degrees or so, then comes on above that temp. Is there any good places to look for the cause of this behavior? It has just cooled that much here recently , but it seems to be consistant, off in the mornings then on after it warms outside. Will probably be off all day today, very cool for this time of year.

I think the majority of abs modules eventually suffer from the poor solder connection to the abs pump. Could it have a temperature relationship? It wouldn't surprise me, and the more I follow the forums, the less likely I am to be surprised by any electrical faults.
If you are at all handy with tools and can solder, it isn't a difficult project.

If you have a multimeter in your toolbox, check the voltage, it's not that hard to do. Checking the date on the battery won't tell you anything.
As for having problems with the ABS, let me say this --
I've had on-and-off ABS issues. What I mean is that sometimes the light comes on (along with the Trac/ASC msg) and then it'll go off after a re-start. It stays off sometimes for months at a time, in fact, it hasn't come on since some time in June and I've driven the car over 6k miles since then -- probably more like 10k, but who's counting?
I did read on this site that one guy noticed his ABS light coming on when it was wet outside -- rainy, humid, etc. I haven't noticed a connection with the weather with my issue.
The first time it happened to me, I freaked! I knew someone else who had the "problem" and paid over $1,500 to get it fixed! WOW!!!! I re-started the car, problem solved for the time being. Since then (that was over a year ago), it's only come on a handful of times (maybe less).
My recommendation -- check the battery first. Replace if necessary. I had to replace mine almost right after I bought the car -- $120 battery for free because the one in the car was under warranty -- it was less than 3 years old and was shot. Don't think the age of the battery will tell you anything, check the voltage or take it to a local shop and have it tested. A new battery can take care of a ton of issues. Secondly, clean the wheel speed sensors -- easy and cheap. Finally, if the ABS light is coming on all the time and you really need to get it fixed, follow the advice in this thread and send it out to have it fixed -- if you can get it out. If you can't take it out yourself, have a trusted (and I stress trusted) mechanic pull it for you. It's not that hard to remove, but I do understand that some people just prefer to have someone else do it, no problem there.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
Mike
