abs warning and trac/and asc failure light on

RE: abs warning and trac/and asc failure light on
I've had the same thing 3 times now, and it's always correlated to hitting a pothole. I guess I may have a slightly loose connector somewhere that gets upset when the wheel (always the left front) goes down a hole in the road (There are lots here in Cali)
The fix is the same everytime. Stop at the next traffic light (again, there are many in Cali). Switch off, restart and all is well again.

RE: abs warning and trac/and asc failure light on
The connector is a possiblity, also a bad wheel bearing can cause this. Wheel bearings fail regularly on the XJ and XK models. We sell the nut removal tool for $150. Also, a bad ABS sensor could be at fault. They are expensive, but don't worry, we don't sell many of those. Start with your wiring idea. It's least expensive.

Usually a false alarm
I've had this warning come up sometimes with my last 3 XJRs, at first it worried me, now I just ignore it, since it goes away when you stop and restart, and ABS worked normally (I did a test on a gravel surface and it chuntered away happily). But I'm no expert, so get it checked just to be sure.
