Hi All, I was wondering whether someone could help.

My AC compressor recently siezed, and so I replaced it along with a leaking high pressure sensor on the AC pipework. When I came to regas, I found the clutch on the compressor wouldn't engage when the AC was turned on.

I have tested the compressor by putting battery voltage to it, and the clutch engages fine. It isn't getting an engage voltage.

I then linked out the 2-30bar switch on the high pressure switch in case this was faulty. The engine note changed briefly, but no clutch engagement (the engine note change also happens when AC is selected from the cabin). I then checked the AC panel diagnostics function, and there are no fault codes active or stored.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what to check next? Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Did you check the clutch fuse?

I should have said - I also checked all the fuses I could see relating to the AC, and swapped the relay with another. No difference.

 

I would 'jump' the relay socket (3/5 or 30/87) to make sure the circuit id intact.
If that works then you need to find out why the relay is not being energized?
