Accleration problems -XJ8
I have XJ8 1998 model - the problem is when i hit the pedal at 50mph the car will not kick down a gear or accelerate as it used to - if I use the gear stick and go down the gears the car kicks down and acclerates as it should. Can anyone help and explain what may be the problem? Is there a electronic switch or something similar that may need replacing ?

uder the gas pedal is a switch that can be screwed in and out to adjust point for kickdown. screw it counterclockwise to bring in sooner, and make sure the floor mat hasnt gone under the pedal....and if Im mistaken on the kickdown switch...sorry I can rememer everything, besides Im preoccupied doing TAXES today....
