In Addition to My Trans Slippage, There is no 'Sport Mode'
1998 XJ8
I think it is 'Sport Mode that I'm referring to. In other cars it's probably known as the Manual shifting selections on the shifter. The car only seems to go in 'Automatic mode'. Is this a programming issue? Perhaps the slippage that I have (see other Post) is related to that? (Hopefully). Otherwise, I'm afraid that I've got a Transmission which will need a rebuild. the rest of the car is great...I'd like to keep it going.
Again, thanks in advance.

jj, you have too many threads going, all dealing with the same problem. To add to a thread just click on 'post quick reply' at the bottom.
It sounds like your transmission is in limp mode, likely because the A drum has failed. Limp mode means it's locked in 4th gear no matter what you do.
