Hey everyone,
I am a new Jag owner and my knowledge of the X308 model is low but I need some
While detaining my car I foolishly kept my interior lights in and radio running. As a result the batter was running low. After turging on the car (took a little bit longer then usual to turn over) the ABS light was illuminated and the vehicle computer was telling me ASC and TRAC are unavalible. I tried to charge my car up by letting it run for a bit then taking it for a drive. Unfortunately the light and warning messages are still illuminated and trac/asc and ABS are still not working. Any suggestions or routs for trouble shooting I can try?
Thanks for all your time

Yeah - in my experience with batteries over two years old, it may charge back up to an operable level after an event like this with a devoted battery charger, but you are almost guaranteed that it will fail on you in the not-too-distant future. Batteries are only $130-150 in the US, and that's more than worth you not getting stuck somewhere. If it's over 2 years old, replace it now with a battery that has a 3 or more year warranty. Those ASC and TRAC lights are a common sign of low battery charge.

Ok, While it probably is a weak battery, here is something to try:
1) charge the battery fully...or take it to a garage to be charged.
2) install the battery in its' place and connect the positive (+) cable.
3) touch the ground (-) wire to the positive terminal of the battery to erase the system memory. No, this won't hurt anything.
4) reconnect the ground (-) wire to the battery
5) start the car and check for messages.
I'd think everything will be fine if you do this. You can then replace the battery when you want....
Take care...

Thanks all for the help. So after troubleshooting the problem further, purchaseing a new battery, and going through and checing voltages i have concluded (with some help from a friend) it's a weak/falling alternator. I'm putting the new one in tomorrow.
Thanks all, apparently these cars start acting strange when batteries are low or the alternator is weak
