Air Bag Dash Symbol

I have tried the connections and all the other seat functions are working properly. I found the seat wiring diagram at gusglikas site.. Great site too! Lots of specific info. But the Seat or Air bag diagrams do not list anything that I could ID as a seat/airbag switch to restrict the passenger side airbag from deploying. Did I just over look it? What am I looking for?

Does it come on if you sit in the passenger seat?
There is a weight sensor... the idea is that the airbag will not go off if a child is sitting in the front seat (airbags can be more dangerous to children when they go off than when they don't). Mine comes on when I have groceries or my backpack sitting in the seat, but turns off if a full-sized human sits in it. Try starting up the car and then sitting in the passenger seat to see if it goes off.

Yes it is for my 99 XJ8. I had to do some work on the drivers seat as it had stopped operating and to sort it out I borrowed the module from the passenger seat. It had the possivtive side effect of making the ligth go out. When I receive the module and install it I will have to seee if it remains that way.

All becomes clearer - posted in the wrong section. I'll leave it here for now to see if we can get a quick resolution.
It's the Airbag Warning light (arrowed in red) in the X308 Instrument pack?
The correct behaviour is that this should illuminate with the rest of the warning lights during the 'bulb check sequence' when you switch on the ignition and go out after the engine is started.
When there's a fault with the Airbag system, the light usually flashes before staying on constantly. This flashing is interpreted by counting the number of flashes which can then be related to a 'flash code' which helps determine the nature of the fault.
If it's flashing, count the flashes and post the results back here for further information about the blink code.

Ok, first. What Thread should I have posted this on? I though I was on the XJ8 forum? Was there one more specific? Newbie Error Perhaps. Secondly, you are correct, it is the warning light as you have pointed out but the light does not flash on start up. Goes straight to solid?
Even the Factory and Dealers find this confusing and use the development identifiers of X308 and X350 to distinguish between the two XJ8 models. Yours is an X308.
As the Airbag light is not showing any Blink Codes, it's time to take this one to the X308 section for input from members with the same model.
