Cool, it was one of those things I read by accident and never would have caught it on my own. motorcarman once wrote about a similar sort of thing that came up with flex plates...there are a different number of holes for the CKPS to read on aj26 vs. AJ27 flywheels, freaks theECM out.I know that would have bit me someday if he hadn't told the story.

On the subject of flex plates...ever see one cracked badly? I sent one to a guy in N.Y. today, apparently it either tore apart or was close to it. News to me, I was hoping for more info from him but I'm all ears if you have any more to add on the subject. Might be interesting to Andre too, unless he is already on top of the subject.

hey im almost done my engine project.. i dont get a lot of time to do it a day .. about an hour or to a day.. but you wanna know the hardest part of converting a N/A engine into a suppercharged engine was? i was just about to blot the super chager down and then realized there was no holes to bolt it to. had to make 2 custom brackets.. front one.. is pretty sweet had it made then milled . the bracket is like a spacer for the thermostate elbow it has a big hole in the middle for coolant.. and has a cutout for the seal.. bolts down and the supercharger bolts to this big chunk of aluminum.. and its milled to the perfect height to put the supercharger at the exact height.. i ll send you a pic when i take one.

Sounds awesome, I'd like to have a look. Where were the mounting holes missing, on top of the block itself ???? I always thought the bareblock, crank and heads were the same but I haven't stepped into supercharger land on a rebuild.

Since we're on the subject of rebuilds, am I to understand that the bearing colors should follow the crank if using a good used crank. I have a good used s/c engine in the shop.

Is it true that all factory rebuilt blocks are actually 4.2L displacement? If so, can I bolt in an 2004 and up 4.2...assuming I change the pan. The oil filter assy on the later sedans is located in the front versus the side on the later cars. More displacement is good.

Thanks,

Kevin
