My audible alarm stopped working some years ago, the indicators still flash and the car is locked, so I've never bothered to do anything about it. All it was in my case was the alarm speaker had failed, but the replacement cost I was quoted by my independent was out of all proportion to nay benefit, so I didn't bother.

I bought my car a few months ago, I notice that when i push the key fob button to close the car i have no sound to confirm that the car alarm is set, so i said that maybe the alarm horn from the engine compartment is damaged but if the car has one door half way close the alarm see that a door is not fully closed and i hear a sound from the alarm horn.
Another issue, if i close the car from the key fob the alarm is set, if i will open the car manually using the key the alarm start after 10 seconds using the main horn not the small alarm horn. The sound is continous. Is this normal?
Maybe some one can help us to fix those problems.
Best regards

The alarm sounders are known for breaking, they are a weak part which are exposed to the wind, rain and dirt coming into the engine bay from the road. It was intended as a back up for if the battery dies, or someone tries to disconnect the battery whilst the system is armed. The sounder has a built in battery which after this long can fail too.
The alarm uses the car's horns as it's primary alarm sounder, which is why you hear them when using the key. You must put the key in the ignition and switch it on if you want to avoid setting off the alarm.

Stu 1986 Thank you for your replay .
I must say that i hear the sound coming from the small horn underneath the car but only when i want to close the car with an open door.
Some say that i must check inside my door (driver door) because the locking system do not open all the doors when i pool the lever from my door, also the button from the central console work only if i want to close all doors but not to open them.
Best regards

Hi
Today i fix my central locking, alarm system.
On the driver side (left side on my car) under the plastic trim near to my left foot was a cut wire on the electric system, the owner before me cut this wire but i do not know why.
After i put the wire together all the problems gone. Now i can lock and unlock the doors from the button on the central console, now work to unlock the doors also from my door lever .
Most of my electric problems are solved except one that i will fix tomorrow by replacing the left rear hub carrier. Now i have installed on my car an X300 hub carrier and the ABS sensor is not in the right position, but this is another story
Best regards
