Does anyone know what size tweeters are in the front A pillars and rear door handle areas of the 2000 XJ8 premium Alpine system?
I see a ton of info out there on the 6.5" speakers...(even though Cruthfield insists its 6.75"...but don't see much detail on the tweeters, other than a post about some 1/2" tweeters from partsexpress that fit.

Tweeters don't fit into standard sizings like mid-range speakers do, because they all have unique mounting systems.
What are you actually trying to achieve?
If you're upgrading your speakers, go for a good component set with some modestly sized tweeters, and get a shop to custom fit them for you.
If you're just looking to replace broken tweeters, then you're probably best to just go with factory ones.
The premium system makes your life a little harder because the amp splits the signal between the mid and the tweeter, rather than a passive crossover.

I'm trying to figure out the size of the housing of what's in there now, so I know what max size I can get without cutting into anything. I've hate anything non-stock looking..it never ages very well...but if I can put some good components behind the factory grills to retain the look, it typically gets the job done and the sound I'm looking for. My tweeter is gone, so anything will be an improvement, and I'm pretty happy with it already...minus probably the low end, but that's another project for another day..

I believe these are nearly, if not identical to to the later LNFxxxx part number for the front pillar tweeters. I bought a pair and will be installing them this weekend in my 03 XJR. BTW I'm not the seller:

The rear door tweeters can be more easily found @ the above website.

If anyone needs tweeters (A-Pillar and rear doors) and would like to stick to the original ones (Audax), they are available from Madisound at $6.70 a piece: https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.co...m-car-tweeter/
I just replaced 3 of my dead tweeters - you can pry them out of the frames and install the new ones. The rear door ones are clip-in to the frame (easy), the A-pillar ones are glued to the frame but can still be carefully pried out with a screw driver and the new ones glued in.
