Default Another key fob thread

I received a key fob that i ordered for my on 98 jaguar vanden plas, I've been tinkering around with it for a bout 2 hours now I still haven't gotten to program to my car. the programming directions that came with the fob are the same ones on the site. can someone help me please?

Check the batteries are the correct way round and that you have the right remote for your model year. 2001-03 cars had a different fob to 98-2000 cars.

. . . and there 2 different part numbers delivered most years. I do not believe they were interchangeable.

Are you adding a fob to an existing working fob and are able to verify that the part numbers are the same? If not, a visit to a dealer may be required to ensure that you have the correct part number.

I currently do not have a key fob for my vehicel.I bought one to at least have one since I'm the sole driver. the info on the remote that I have
