Any possible chance to get the trunk open?

Curious on those pictures, since I don't remember what it was like when I pulled my subwoofer out. Is that a factory opening, or was that cut in by a previous owner to access fuel lines and pumps?
Which brings me to #2.. in my XJR, there's quite the gas tank behind the rear seat, so opening or no, there's not a whole lot that would be done to access the trunk.

i bought the car used 5 years ago and it is a Jaguar 2004 XJ8 a 350 for sure.
I was told that there’s not access through the rear seat
but I found that aluminum cover plate and the opening is from factory not doubt about that . I was really surprised and happy when I saw that opening

For the X308s, the only ways I know to access the trunk, are the button on the fob, the key itself, trunk button on the lid, and the dash button. With a dead battery, then you're stuck with the key, or if the cylinder is froze or broken, you can try to connect cables to the positive post under the hood to provide power to then use the power releases. And last resort, drilling the whole behind the license plate which can then allow use of a thin screwdriver or other tool to manually release the latch.
It is one of the few things I wish the car had, was a pass-through rear seat, but moving the tank would mean the lines of the X308 wouldn't be as slim as they are.
